Take a Look

My work has transitioned from a focus on pool imagery to the discarded, out of place lonely object. My artworks are formed using a combination of memory, invented imagery and found object studies. The star of my paintings is the usage of mark and the sensuousness of color. With each work, I am trying to allow the viewer to enter into a colorful space, but one in which there are uncertainties. I want the imagery to swirl around you, leap towards you and hold your attention. Hear the staccato of the mark made on the surface. Pools are most often associated with places of relaxation and fun, these spaces are undefined and perhaps a bit distorted, thus, they don’t allow the viewer to get too comfortable.
